Meet the Artist
Kate Mills
A mum to three lovely boys and devoted owner of a cobberdog named Chester, Kate creates her work from her home studio in Mitcham. Life is full, grounded in family, and deeply connected to a sense of place-something that flows naturally into her art.
Working primarily in watercolour, Kate draws inspiration from the ever-changing beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula, as well as the quiet, natural surroundings of Brown Hill Creek in Mitcham. Soft coastal light, rugged shorelines, and peaceful bushland moments are reflected in her pieces, capturing both atmosphere and emotion with a gentle, expressive touch.
Balancing motherhood and creativity, her practice is rooted in everyday life-where art becomes a way to pause, observe, and celebrate the landscapes that feel like home.

From the Studio
"Each piece in my collection is a hand-painted original, inspired by the soft beauty of nature and coastal living.
Working in watercolour, I'm drawn to fluid, organic forms
—like delicate leaves and vibrant sea life-allowing colour to move freely across the page in layered washes of turquoise, sea greens, and gentle lilacs. My style balances simplicity with expression, creating artwork that feels light, modern, and full of quiet movement.
Every painting is thoughtfully created to bring a sense of calm, freshness, and effortless elegance into your home, whether as a statement piece or part of a relaxed, coastal-inspired space."
